About Bunastories

Have you ever found yourself on a search for great coffee and ended up spending a crazy amount of time searching? We certainly have, which is why we believed that it was time to create a unique platform specifically dedicated to giving specialty coffee the credit it deserves.

So we are on a mission: to create a comprehensive list of all specialty coffee places around the world, saving you from undue hassle of endless searches, doubts, and questions.

What does bunastories mean?

The first part of the name is "buna". Buna stands for coffee in Amharic, an Ethiopian Semitic language. And Ethiopia is where many believe the origin of coffee lays, which is still disputed to this day (Yemen seems to be the other candidate).

Even so, Ethiopia is one of the largest coffee producers, known for their amazing range of suprising and fruity flavors, and therefore a big player in specialty coffee.

The "stories" in "bunastories" represent our mission to share tales of unique coffees worldwide. So, "bunastories" translates roughly to "coffee-stories."
